Proven Methods to Find your 1st Paying Customer
Here are four marketing methods I use to get customers for all of my startups, this works even if you have no audience and no money to spend on advertising.
I will be assuming you have no money to spend on your startup.
1/ Reddit
Reddit is the best and easiest way to get your first customer because you don’t have to build a huge audience before posting or writing creative content, just write a simple post and post in Reddit communities where you can find your perfect audience.
If you want to promote your business for free, here is a list of startup Subreddits where submissions are allowed (text posts only):
r/Entrepreneur
r/EntrepreneurRideAlong
r/IMadeThis
r/IndieBiz
r/SideProject
r/SmallBusiness
r/Startups
r/Saas

2/ Twitter/X
I think Twitter/X is the best place to promote your startup, it just takes some time to get engagement but once you start writing useful posts you skyrocket the reach of your startup, I have given examples of some Twitter accounts that are amazingly doing their startup marketing and getting lot’s of traffic daily.

This method is especially for developers, basically building free tools around your startups through which you can attract some potential customers fast because people love to use free stuff. One more way is to create programmatic pages around your startup which ranks your startup on Google fast and gets lots of clicks daily while you sleep.
